The little mystery woven into the plot with the letter was brilliant and keeps you listening to find out who and why. I also found the old Hollywood setting so dazzling and fun. I loved the friendship between Emi and Charlotte. But the real themes in this book are so much bigger- so much more intimate and intricate and so delicately woven that you will find tears in your eyes for no reason while you read. Then enters Ava a down and out aspiring -but out of work actress who has been treated unkindly by her adoptive mother. Emi and her best friend, Charlotte, find a letter in an estate sale from an old Hollywood movie mogul and set out to deliver the letter to his next of kin. It's the story of a young woman, Emi, who is working as a set designer for a play and is going through a break up while continuing to work with her ex-girlfriend. Such a beautifully written story for any age
